¤U±¤Þ¥Î¥Ñunclesam¦b 2006/01/09 10:40pm µoªíªº¤º®e¡G I think there should be a mixture of serious journalism and tabloids. They should co-exist in any modern cities. However, it seems that the tabloids have become the mainstream culture in HK. In the States, the tabloids such as the National Enquirer, US Weekly etc do not carry as much weight. People just glance at these tabloids at the supermarket check-out lines and have a good laugh only. When they need to know the truth, they turn to national news source such as the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC etc. These HK tabloids are hilarious. :em01: :em22: :em51: I usually ask my friends to bring them back to the States when they visit HK. I read the Sunday edition of Sing Tao News here - they have the Sunday tabloid called East Weekly. One would think HK people are living in the Stone Age. They make a big fuss about celebrities living together, as though it is strictly banned in the culture. The HK reporters like to aim their cameras at the women's breasts or beneath their dresses. They remind me of Austin Powers. :em01: :em22: It's actually quite entertaining, it's so silly, it reminds people not to be so serious.
