It really depends on what kind of deadline it is, what type of project or work that need to be done.

The author is only offering a one-sided argument that people should finish the job as soon as possible. But what about the QUALITY of the work? Did the author forget that QUALITY is more important in places other than fast-food chain such as McDonald's, or Burger King?  

Getting things done EARLY has its own hazard, did the people do a sloppy job just for the sake to be EARLY, to impress the boss?

The author seems to hold the naive assumption that the boss/Management is always right. If that is true, you won't find certain companies constant hiring to replace people who have resigned in mass (as in an EXODUS).


If you look at it from the other end, it is the Management's fault to set UNREALISTIC DEADLINES if the projected completion date does not truly reflect the reality.  

This article is sort of B.S.
