"I Will Survive" is a song by Gloria Gaynor, released in 1978. It was written by Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris.88MiG

The song's lyrics describe a narrator who finds personal strength while recovering from a break-up; it has often been used as an anthem of female empowerment, a gay anthem, and HIV/AIDS awareness. It is a widely played disco classic, and easily Gaynor's biggest hit; it received massive airplay in 1979, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was originally released as the B-side to a Gaynor song called "Substitute", a track thought to have more potential for mainstream success by her record label. Disc jockeys began flipping the single over and eventually copies of the record were pressed with "I Will Survive" as the A-side ("Substitute" managed to peak at number 107 on Billboard's Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart). The song was rated number nine on George Carlin's 10 Most Embarrassing Songs of All Time/[L2b

1949年生於紐澤西州的一個小鎮，少女時代就決心闖蕩歌壇，1974年以一首Never Can Say Goodbye成為唱片史上最早發行以迪斯可舞廳為對象的舞曲藝人，專輯中的歌曲沒有分段以連續的方式發行以方便舞廳唱片騎師(DJ)播放，也造成了一股轟動，由於這張專輯裡結合了"Honey Bee" 、"Never Can Say Goodbye" 、"Reach Out (I''ll Be There)"大為轟動、在 1975年三月，全美迪斯可舞廳DJ聯盟在紐約舉行的年度票選中，共同票選出"Gloria Gaynor"為迪斯可女王8.
